Concert with Diotima Quartet to celebrate the release of their new recording of the new Barenreiter Critical Edition of the two string quartets by Janacek.
The second quartet is recorded on this CD both in the version with viola, and in the version with viola d’amore instead of viola (Janacek’s original wish).
At this concert, Garth Knox will present and play his new piece for viola d’amore solo, called “Reponses Brulees”, an imaginary musical representation of Kamilla’s replies to Janacek’s letters, which she asked him to burn.
